When Children Feel Good they Do Good

LEGO Therapy

LEGO based therapy was developed in 2004 by neuropsychologist Daniel LeGroff to support children with autism who were needing support with social and communication difficulties. Since it's development LEGO Therapy has since been used with a wide range of children (not just those with ASD) as it promotes social interaction, turn taking, sharing and collaborative problem solving.

Group or individual therapy?

With an emerging evidence base LEGO based therapy has been proven to be a powerful intervention to support children's social and communication skill development as the bricks so naturally captures the interest of children and adults alike.

LEGO based therapy is highly structured and largely been used as a group social skills program, where 3-4 similar aged peers and abilities work together, in defined roles, to build a specific LEGO model before ending the session with a free build activity.

Currently Connected Kiddos are not running a group LEGO therapy program  however we are able to offer one on one LEGO therapy, ideally suited to children who may find a group situation overwhelming or for those who want to trial what LEGO therapy is all about before engaging in a group.

Like all of our approached at Connected Kiddos we invite parents/caregivers to join us in therapy, whereby we can create a unique LEGO "group" with the child, parent and therapist (with assigned roles such as builder, engineer and supplier) for equally fabulous outcomes!
